Fine Print

Do you ever read the fine print? Probably not all the time because we assume it doesn’t mean anything relevant. Maybe it’s not important to us, right? I think 90% of the time on software agreements for apps and anything Apple, we just assume it’s all good. I mean it is all good isn’t it?

However, when agreeing to a contract, then it matters. When getting divorce, it’s critical. Then we need to not only read it, but understand what each word really means.

Buying a house is a learning experience, even though you essentially are stuck with the house, you would like to know what could go wrong.

I stopped assuming when working with customers. I have learned that you need to clarify to make sure you’re on the same page. Even then, you want an explanation so that when the next person reads it, they don’t assume but they know. Assumptions can eat you alive because the customer will push to get as much free as possible. Wouldn’t you?

ASSUME means you could make an ASS out of U and ME!

Maybe we should at least glance at the fine print. Why are there so many words for a free app? I just don’t get it.

When working with people, remember that assumptions can be a problem. It pays to clarify and read the fine print. Don’t read between the lines, ask what they mean.

Fine print matters, so be careful out there and don’t do anything crazy.
