Do you think it’s easy to do something hard every day? Something that you know will make you a better person.
It is hard. It’s easy to sit and watch TV.
It’s easy to sit and eat shitty food.
It’s easy to eat fast food.
It’s easy to lay in bed, on the couch, in a chair, or even on the floor instead of doing something.
But, did you earn it?
Did you earn that donut?
Did you earn that extra hour in bed?
Did you earn the right to sit on your fat ass and watch TV?
What did you earn? What did you work for? What did you do that earned it?
I worked out today for 60 minutes. Hard. I earned my hour in front of the TV.
I earned my dinner, but because I worked out, I don’t want donuts, my body deserves better. It deserves good protein, chicken, fish, maybe steak once a month.
I deserve that good meal, not to load my body with shit.
I am someone who eats great most of the time. I am someone who works out 6 days a week. I am someone who rests one day a week.
Do you know why I take a day off because I earned it! I deserve to let my body rest and recover.
I hardly ever eat a donut, but when I do, I know it’s a one-off, a special event, and that my body will forgive me once a month or so when I do something like that. Do you know why? Because that’s not who I am!
I am someone who eats right most of the time. I am a healthy person.
Healthy people work hard to remain healthy. They earn it. They are self-disciplined and it shows.
That is how I truly see myself.
I work hard. I deserve to rest hard. I am that guy, the guy that earned it.
I am the guy who looks like he works out.
I am who I want to be.
I know, I can always do better, but I also know I could do worse.
I am proud to do it again tomorrow.
