Let’s talk Discipline

Did anyone ever tell you that all you need is some discipline? Don’t you want to kink them square in the crotch? Like you don’t have enough to do with someone telling you that you need more discipline.

The thing is, they are right, you already know that. What are you going to do about it?

When you hear someone say, “That’s all it takes” and they are 50 lbs overweight, it just pisses me off.

So, what are you going to do about it?

Did you get pissed when someone gets in your face and tells you “if it’s going to be it’s up to me!”

So what are you going to do about it?

Did you ever have someone say to you that you just have to change your routines and it will happen, doesn’t that piss you off?

So what are you going to do about it?

Did you notice, it is up to you. What are YOU going to do about it?

Not them, not someone else, not an app, not a routine, not some magic formula.

What are you going to do about it?

You are the deciding factor. If you want to work out, then you need to work out. Maybe you should stop bitching, complaining, whining and worrying about what other people say and do and get off of your fat ass and work out. Eat right. Make up your Fing mind and do it.

Do it. Do it. Do it. Do it. Get off your ass and do it.

You need to do something.

Sure, it’s an inconvenience to run to a gym, put on your sneakers, eat right, get up early.

If it were east, wouldn’t we all have 6-pack abs? I mean watching TV is easy and we all do it.

Eating shitty food is easy and fun, so we all do it.

Looking at YouTube videos is fun, so we all do it.

Hey, fatty, get off your ass and do something that isn’t so easy a 3-year-old can do. Get off your ass and get to the gym or run on the road or treadmill.

You need to do it. You need to do it for You! You! You!

I am sick of people telling me what I should do when they don’t do it themselves. I do it.

Sure, I fail sometimes or I realize how much I hate something. Maybe I really hate doing it or I really miss eating something.

BUT, do you know what, I tried, I made an attempt, and I did it.

They call it discipline. But that is up to you to do. Self-discipline is up to you.

What are you 10, your mother has to come in and tell you to get up and go to the gym?

Get off your ass and do it. Make it a habit. Do it until it is part of your daily routine and part of your life.

Do it until that is who you are!

Who are you? Are you a fat lazy slob? Is that what you want to be?

Maybe, you’re someone who works out 3 to 6 days a week.

Who do you want to be? Be that person. Create your own self-discipline and do it.

Get to the gym. It’s up to you.

You are an adult now, make a decision and work to achieve your goal.

Maybe you need motivation. I like music when I run, it helps me get into the zone.

Motivate yourself. Here is what I do almost every morning:

  • I get up because I am human, and someone who works out, that is who I am today and want to be in the future.
  • I drink water to hydrate because that’s what a healthy person does.
  • I may drink something to keep me going, like tea or coffee.
  • I go to the gym with a plan, to lift, run, exercise, to be healthy.
  • I am a healthy person, an athlete who when I am 100 years old, will be in great health living a great life.
  • I am at the gym, I might as well run to work out, I’ll listen to kick-ass music to keep me going.
  • I just ran, so I will do the ropes or lift weights, or strength training of some time because I want to work out hard for at least an hour.
  • I just worked out, an hour today and I’ll do it again tomorrow because that’s who I am. I am a healthy person.
  • I congratulate myself, remind myself that I am awesome, I’ll weigh myself and see that I am maintaining my weight at 165 lbs.
  • I feel awesome!

Do you think that’s funny, a little silly even? I don’t care, that is how I maintain my discipline.

Now that I am disciplined, that’s who I am. I am an athlete. Not a pro, but maybe someone who could be healthier than most people.

So when someone says you need self-discipline, that is not true. You need to create your own self-discipline. It really is up to you.

You make the difference.

You do the work.

You decide who you want to be.

Once you decide who you are, then you create the path to get there.

Once you see the path, you create a plan.

Then, follow the plan.

The plan will lead to self-discipline.

Self-discipline will lead to habits that make it easier and easier.

Then you will be who you say you are. Your habits will build you up.

That is self-discipline.

It is up to you, not your motivational speaker.

It is up to you, not your mother or father.

You can learn from them and let them inspire you.

But in the end, it is who you see in the mirror. That person.

Then, it’s who you see in your mind, the you that you see on the inside.

The you on the inside will drive you to be that you on the outside.

The you on the inside will be your true motivation.

True motivation is in you.

Motivation leads to a plan.

That plan creates a self-discipline that builds habits.

It’s who you are meant to be, by becoming that person, you become self-disciplined.

It’s who you are.
