Goal Focus Worksheet

Maybe if you use a worksheet, then your goal can be hit realistically.

Let’s review our goals and write down what we should be doing. This is based on my recent blog.

If it helps, you can download or copy the Google Docs copy of this here

  1. Define the goal, high level.
    1. Goal is to ??, keep it simple for now. _______________________________________________________________
    2. Focus should be around ?? _______________________________________________________________
    3. What do we also want to include, family, friends, life events that are coming up? Remember, we don’t want to put the goal in front of what’s truly important, and I am not talking about a show you must watch but what really matters in your life. _______________________________________________________________
  2. What are your other priorities in life?
    1. Make sure you dont’ push out loved ones and family! _______________________________________________________________
    2. Think about your full time gig and how you will continue to pay the bills while you hit this goal. _______________________________________________________________
    3. Think about your health and exercise, you don’t want to take years off your life, unless your goal is skydiving, then best of luck! _______________________________________________________________
  3. Let’s review the anti-goal.
    1. What don’t I want? _______________________________________________________________
    2. Why don’t I want that? Like I don’t want to end up divorced, alone, living on the street, unless that’s your goal, then go for it. If that is your goal, you really have a great chance of hitting it! _______________________________________________________________
    3. You don’t want to become an asshole, so think through how you can maintain your sanity during this project. _______________________________________________________________
  4. What distractions do you have ahead of you?
    1. Streaming video? _______________________________________________________________
    2. Bad habits? _______________________________________________________________
    3. Laziness or distractions? _______________________________________________________________
  5. What days of the week, or times of day can you do this?
    1. Days: _______________________________________________________________
    2. Time of day: _______________________________________________________________
  6. Milestones, deadlines, and mini goals.
    1. What is your first goal? Day 1? _______________________________________________________________
    2. What is your first month goal? Day 31? _______________________________________________________________
    3. What is your first quarter goal? _______________________________________________________________
    4. Second quarter? _______________________________________________________________
    5. Third quarter? _______________________________________________________________
    6. At the end of the year? Min goal. _______________________________________________________________
    7. At the end of the year? Max goal. _______________________________________________________________
  7. You got this!
    1. Get started! Enough of this procrastination.
    2. Start today, even something small.
    3. Don’t be afraid to adjust your targets, make the milestones shift as you learn new things.
